Locations in Lycania
Hayakuso
The metropolis of the Crimson Wolf Empire lies deep within the Ebonwood forests. Hayakuso owes much of its dominance to its superior central position, and its ability to freely trade with the cities of Densguard and Savior’s Point. An ignorant eye may observe that the unwalled city of Hayakuso is not as fortified or well-protected as the capitals of the other empires but this is a misunderstanding of the true power of the Crimson Wolf empire. The forests of Lycania that surround Hayakuso act as its fortifications. Nestled miles deep in the dark forest, hundreds of Crimson Wolf warriors stalk in the area around the city, ever vigilant for those who are foolish enough to attack. When you walk the road to Hayakuso, just know you will be closely watched long before you even get a glimpse of the city within.
Ebonwood Grove
Ancient and sacred, Ebonwood Grove is the destination of many pilgrims who travel through Lycania. The harvesting and processing of ebonwood is treated as the highest privilege a Crimson Wolf artisan can have. Most carpenters in Lycania spend their lifetimes petitioning their guild to allow them to work with the fabled material and merchants from other empires make the long trip deep into the forests of Lycania for the chance to purchase some. The city is quaint and quiet, and its citizens know that when the sun is in the sky, only whispers may pass their lips in order to protect the focus craftsmen who work therein.
Port Lobo
A port town located on the shores of Kinzo Coast. Port Lobo is a popular trading hub for the Crimson Wolf Empire. With gold imported from Densguard, and Ebonwood shipped in from the nearby grove. Given the valuable resources passing through the town, it remains heavily guarded from thieves and raiders.
Sentinel’s Rest
Grizzled and battle-worn soldiers of the Crimson Wolf empire do not grow lazy and fat in their old age. Their proud warrior heritage demands that they serve until their last dying breath. However, they are still granted some degree of peace in their old age. These warriors look forward to one day making their way to Sentinel’s Rest, where honor demands they guard the city until such a time as their body is no longer fit to serve. As you approach the city from the mountains, you may be surprised to see the numerous statues lining the walls. However, as you get closer, you will realize they are not statues but ancient warriors standing with rigid discipline and stillness, ever watching for danger. In the same vein of veteran soldiers, the most skilled and experienced craftsmen of Lycania find their home here, crafting legendary works with the only Ebonwood found outside of Ebonwood Grove.
Castle Neraz
An ancient castle built in the name of leader who has long since been forgotten by history, Castle Neraz stands tall along the coast of Lycania. The tall walls of the castle conceal tight alleyways bustling with soldiers and workers alike. The castle hums with activity day and night and the tunnels beneath are large enough to hold a shocking number of Crimson Wolves in the event that the castle is put under siege yet again. This castle stood alone, stemming the tide of Cobalt Sharks and halting their conquest when they could not gain a foothold there.
Okami’s Reach
A remote farming village which lies along the border of Mytril and Lycania. While it is not the most wealthy city in the Crimson Wolf Empire, its people largely enjoy quiet, peaceful lives. Though its position by the border would place it in imminent danger should a conflict between the Crimson Wolves and Jade Eagles arise. The plains surrounding Okami’s Reach are the most fit for farming in the Crimson Wolf empire. Large harvests of rice, legumes, and fruits are able to sustain the empire through the winter.
